The Who Announce ‘The Song Is Over’ Farewell Tour – We Look Back At Our Checkered Who Concert Experiences
ByKenneth Corsini May 12, 2025June 18, 2026
Legendary, venerable rock band the Who held a press conference last week announcing they are retiring. I’m not sure if they’re just retiring from the road or retiring period. I get the feeling this is the end of the road for the Who. Of course, now they’re just Roger Daltrey (vocals) and Pete Townshend (guitar/vocals/songwriting)….

Review: Eric Clapton, Releases ‘Unplugged – Enhanced Version’ – Looking Back At His Iconic Live/Acoustic LP
ByKenneth Corsini May 9, 2025June 18, 2026
Eric Clapton, former member of the Yardbirds, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, Cream and Blind Faith, has re-released his iconic Unplugged album (originally released in 1992) in what he’s calling an ‘Enhanced Version.’ As far as I can tell, the only thing “enhanced” about this album is a promise to release some “never before heard” interviews recorded…

Review: Sting Releases ‘Sting 3.0 Live’ From Latest Tour – He Continues To Surprise Me, In A Good Way
ByKenneth Corsini May 4, 2025June 18, 2026
Sting, who has had perhaps one of the most challenging, albeit successful, solo careers continues to surprise me good ways. Just last weekend he released a single-LP, live album entitled Sting 3.0 Live, taken from his latest tour (of the same name) and recorded in Los Angeles. The album was originally released as a Record…

New Song: Sammy Hagar’s New Rocking Tribute To Eddie Van Halen, “Encore, Thank you, Goodnight”
ByKenneth Corsini May 1, 2025June 18, 2026
“Since you’ve been gone things don’t feel the same…” – Sammy Hagar, “Encore, Thank You, Goodnight” While I was busy playing and replaying the new single from the recently reunited Alice Cooper band, “Black Mamba,” Sammy Hagar snuck up on me and dropped another new song – his second new track of the year –…

Rock Hall Of Fame Announces 2025 Inductees And For Once, I’m Delighted
ByKenneth Corsini April 28, 2025June 18, 2026
I don’t know how many times I’ve sat here, seeing the list of rock artists being inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio and just bitching and moaning about how the Hall got it wrong. I have to say, in this year of our Lord 2025, the Hall just nailed it. I…

New Song: The Original Alice Cooper Band Reunite For “Black Mamba” With New LP On The Way
ByKenneth Corsini April 27, 2025June 18, 2026
I guess I’ve been a little distracted of late and it’s been almost a week since the newly reunited, original Alice Cooper band – not the singer Vincent Furnier who changed his name to Alice Cooper – dropped their first single, “Black Mamba,” from the upcoming album The Revenge Of Alice Cooper. I’m not gonna…

Review: Billy Idol, ‘Dream Into It’ – His First New LP In 11 Years
ByKenneth Corsini April 25, 2025June 18, 2026
Billy Idol has released his first new album in 11 years, Dream Into It. Billy joins a few other illustrious rock acts who have waited a decade (or perhaps decades) between albums, like the Stones, the Cure, and Peter Gabriel who all released albums last year (or late ’23 in the case of Gabriel). Although…

The “Difficult Second Album” – 12 Artists Who Fell Victim To “The Sophomore Slump”
ByKenneth Corsini April 19, 2025June 18, 2026
I’ve spoken about “the sophomore slump” before on the pages of B&V. In that particular post I was thinking about all the bands who managed to overcome the dreaded sophomore jinx by putting out an even better second album than their debut. I recently posted about one such second album in the Cult’s Love. As I…

Playlist: Spring Has Sprung, Summer’s Almost Here…Time To Celebrate Rock Songs About… Booze/Drinking (2.0)
ByKenneth Corsini April 15, 2025June 18, 2026
“I feel bad for people who don’t drink. When they wake up in the morning, that’s as good as they’re going to feel all day.” – Frank Sinatra With the exception of Fall – which is my favorite of the seasons because, well, football… and if I’m being honest I’ve always liked good jacket weather…

LP Lookback: The Cult’s Fabulous 2nd Album ‘Love’ Turns 40 This Year
ByKenneth Corsini April 10, 2025June 18, 2026
I posted my annual 40 year lookback playlist in March and this year it was all about 1985. I don’t think 1985 will ever rival say, 1971 or 1984, in terms of the vast amount of quality music that was released in that calendar year, but there were certainly some fantastic albums that hailed from…
