Review: Elton John Opens Vaults For ‘Live From The Rainbow Theater,’ With Ray Cooper, From 1977, A Wonderful Performance
ByKenneth Corsini August 5, 2025June 18, 2026
Elton John has released a live album from the vaults, Live At The Rainbow Theater, originally recorded in 1977. Apparently this performance was broadcast and has been highly bootlegged over the years, but I must admit, I’d never heard it before this release. The performance is mostly Elton alone at the piano, but he was…

Review: Talking Heads New ‘More Songs About Buildings And Food – Super Deluxe’ – Revisiting Their 2nd LP
ByKenneth Corsini August 1, 2025June 18, 2026
Seminal punk rock band (albeit an artsy punk rock), who sprung from CBGB no less, the Talking Heads (David Byrne: guitars/vocals; Chris Frantz: drums; Tina Weymouth: drums; Jerry Harrison: guitar/keyboards) have revisited their second album with the release last week of More Songs About Buildings And Food (Super Deluxe Edition). This is on the heels…

Review: New Billy Joel 2-Part (Very Long) Documentary, ‘And So It Goes’ – A Piano Man Deep Dive, Worth The Time
ByKenneth Corsini July 28, 2025June 18, 2026
I finally finished the in-depth new Billy Joel documentary, or “rockumentary” if you like, but I won’t lie, at 2 episodes and roughly 5 hours of material, it took me two sittings per episode (each episode is 2 and 1/2 hours) over two weekends to digest it all. I have always been a big Billy…

Review: Alice Cooper (The Original Line Up) Release ‘The Revenge Of Alice Cooper’ – A Rocking Reunion 52 Years In The Making
ByKenneth Corsini July 26, 2025June 18, 2026
Alice Cooper – the original band, not the singer of the same name – have released their first new album together in 52 years, The Revenge Of Alice Cooper. There have been a few partial reunions but this is the first time these high school buddies from Phoenix, Alice Cooper (aka Vincent Furnier, vocals), Michael…

ByKenneth Corsini July 22, 2025June 18, 2026
“Grieving, I hate to say good-bye, Dust and ash forever, yeah, Though I know we must be parted, As sure as stars are in the sky, I’m gonna see when it comes to glory And I’ll see you, I’ll see you on the other side” – Ozzy Osbourne, “See You On The Other Side” I…

Review: Bush Release 10th LP, ‘I Beat Loneliness’ – A Strong Start But Turns Mellow Toward The 2nd Half
ByKenneth Corsini July 22, 2025June 18, 2026
Bush has just released their 10th studio album, I Beat Loneliness and I have to say, after 2022’s monumental release The Art Of Survival, I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’m a touch disappointed with the new record. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a bad album but it feels like a bit of…

ByKenneth Corsini July 17, 2025June 18, 2026
Robert Plant is back with a new song, a cover of the band Low’s track “Everybody’s Song,” and the promise of a new album, entitled Saving Grace, due September 26th! It has been a while since we’ve heard from Mr. Plant and I can’t tell you how delighted I am. His last LP was the…

Playlist: Songs About… The City/Downtown (No Place Specific… Unless “Suffragette City” Is An Actual Place?)
ByKenneth Corsini July 14, 2025June 18, 2026
*Photo above from the internet, likely copyrighted I’ve been a little bit behind in terms of posting of late. An old friend and his wife came to visit this past weekend and needless to say, I’m feeling a little ragged in the aftermath. It’s been a slow month for interesting releases so I thought I’d…

Box Set Review: Springsteen’s ‘Tracks 2: The Lost Albums’ – The Extraordinary Path Not Taken…
ByKenneth Corsini July 3, 2025June 18, 2026
*Photo of my copy of Springsteen’s ‘Tracks II: The Lost Albums’ taken by the Rock Chick I think most Springsteen fans were as pumped as I was this April when he dropped “Rain In The River” and announced, at last, he was releasing Tracks II: The Lost Albums. We’d all been waiting patiently for, checks…

Review: Gregg Allman Band, ‘One Night In D.C., May 15 1984’ – A Live Vault Release From A Fallow Time For The Allmans…
ByKenneth Corsini June 27, 2025June 18, 2026
I like to mix things up here at B&V, relatively speaking, and I know I just posted about a live album – the Pretenders’ Kick Em Where It Hurts – but I found myself this week entranced by yet another live album, this one from the vaults, the Gregg Allman Band’s One Night In D.C.,…
