Concert Review: Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs, Kansas City’s Kauffman Center, 6/24/24 – A Superb Night Of “Rock N Roll Soul Healing”
ByKenneth Corsini June 25, 2024June 13, 2026
My rock n roll cup overfloweth… First I got to see the Stones last Thursday, and last night I got to see former Heartbreaker lead guitarist extraordinaire Mike Campbell & the Dirty Knobs. It was my best bud Doug’s idea to go see the Dirty Knobs and man, I’m glad I did. It was an…

Concert Review: The Rolling Stones, ‘Hackney Diamonds Tour’ – Denver, Colorado June 20, 2024
ByKenneth Corsini June 23, 2024June 17, 2026
*Photo of the ‘Hackney Diamonds’ logo from the Denver Stones show, taken by your intrepid blogger. I just got home after driving that long stretch of bricks back from Denver to K.C. I shouldn’t complain about driving, I’ve always loved road trips. While the Rock Chick is fast asleep, I’m still chugging along on that…

Review: Paul McCartney Releases The “Live” In The Studio, Oft Bootlegged ‘One Hand Clapping’ – Peak McCartney & Wings From The Vaults
ByKenneth Corsini June 18, 2024June 17, 2026
Last weekend was an exceptional one for fans of rock n roll. Not only did we get a great new album from Mike Campbell & the Dirty Knobs (Vagabonds, Virgins & Misfits), but Sir Paul McCartney dug into his vaults and released a nice little treasure from the 70s for us. Paul went back to…

Review: Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs ‘Vagabonds, Virgins, & Misfits’ – The Rock Music Keeps Rollin’!
ByKenneth Corsini June 15, 2024June 17, 2026
Just when I thought I’d settled in on Slash’s new blues album Orgy Of The Damned as my “summer jam,” Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs arrive with their new album, Vagabonds, Virgins & Misfits, to give Slash a run for his money as “King of My Stereo.” Nothing will help me get over the…

Four Bands Who Were Shooting Stars – Burning Big & Bright, But Only Briefly…Here Today, Gone Tomorrow
ByKenneth Corsini June 12, 2024June 17, 2026
When I was really young, in my “pre-rock n roll” days, it never occurred to me that fame was fleeting. My parents still loved Elvis, who was from the (gads) 50’s so he still seemed current if not relevant, at least in our house… well, he did until his untimely death. Every weekday they had…

Playlist: In Honor of Summer Road Trips We Celebrate Songs About… Driving/The Road
ByKenneth Corsini June 6, 2024June 17, 2026
The Memorial Day weekend crept up on me this year. The Rock Chick was visiting relatives out West and I was on my own so as usual I “lost time.” While summer doesn’t officially start until June 21st, Memorial Day is the unofficial kick off to summer in the States. Well, Memorial Day is at…

LP Lookback: Billy Joel’s ‘Turnstiles’ Released May of 1976 Turns 48 This Month, We Celebrate The Classic LP
ByKenneth Corsini May 30, 2024June 17, 2026
“You know those lights were bright on Broadway… That was so many years ago,” Billy Joel, “Miami 2017 (Seen The Lights Go Out On Broadway)” I’m not big on social media although it would probably help B&V if I was more active. Truth be told I only joined a few platforms so I could keep…

B&V’s List Of Our Favorite Hair Metal Bands – There Were A Few Good Ones…A Guilty Pleasure?
ByKenneth Corsini May 25, 2024June 17, 2026
I swear I don’t even know what band this is, pictured above, but my God… the sheer volume of hair is… staggering. I can’t imagine how much money these guys must have spent on hair products. Not to mention the time wasted teasing their hair. Just the conditioner bill alone would have kept me poor….

Review: Slash’s New Blues Covers LP, ‘Orgy Of The Damned’ – A Fun Saturday Afternoon Blues Jam Vibe
ByKenneth Corsini May 18, 2024June 17, 2026
Despite the fact that I’ve always loved Slash – he’s one of the greatest, most melodic lead guitar players of all time and is perhaps the greatest guitarist of his generation – and despite my long profession of love for the blues and blues rock, I was thoroughly prepared to dislike Slash’s new blues covers…

Review: Beatles Re-Release Original ‘Let It Be’ Film, Restored By Peter Jackson – Surprisingly Good Viewing
ByKenneth Corsini May 13, 2024June 17, 2026
I have to admit, I was a little surprised to see that the Beatles have re-released the original version of their film, Let It Be (1970), originally directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg and restored to it’s original brilliance by Peter Jackson who did the extensive Get Back project 2-1/2 years ago. The film was over 50…
