When I started this blog, amongst my many goals for it was the wish that I’d find a community of like minded rock n roll fans out there. I had hoped we could open a dialogue about the music we love. As fate would have it, I may have accomplished that! I had a reader…
Oh my, now we’re talkin’ ’bout the good stuff!! It was about two and half years ago that the Black Crowes, perennial favorites around here at B&V, put out a 30th Anniversary Edition of their debut album, Shake Your Money Maker. It was a great little package of the original album, outtakes/b-sides and a full…
*Photo of singer Luke Spiller of the Struts taken by your intrepid blogger There’s nothing better than that “day after the concert” feeling when you’ve seen a great show. There’s a buzz – psychological, not bourbon related – that comes over you when you’ve seen a band come out and blow the doors off a…
Well, I guess I am capable of being surprised. It’s been over 50 years since the Beatles broke up. It’s been over 60 since they formed as a band. Sadly, it’s been over 40 years since John Lennon was senselessly killed by insane gun violence. It’s been over 20 years since George Harrison succumbed to…

While I realize today is the release date of the new Stones album, Hackney Diamonds, it’s also Tom Petty’s birthday. I can’t believe it’s been six years since we lost Tom. I feel that loss to this day. The man was only 66… actually less than three weeks away from turning 67. I feel like…
*Photo of Lenny Kravitz, proving he is one cool rock star… Lenny Kravitz has returned with a brand new song – and quite the video – for the first time since 2018’s Raise Vibration. The new song is called “TK421.” While I wasn’t that high on Raise Vibration – although admittedly it had it’s moments…
“The sunshine bores the daylights out of me…” – The Rolling Stones, “Rocks Off” There has always been something magical to me about nighttime. I was always a night owl. I was the kid who was hard to wake up in the morning and even harder to make go to and stay in bed. I’d…
